It was known as the Phu Quoc Coconut Tree Prison during the Indochina War. The Republic of Vietnam’s national prison, Phu Quoc Coconut Prison, held 32,000 inmates. In 1995, Phu Quoc Prison received official certification as a Special National Relic by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture and Information.

The most horrific torture scenes at Phu Quoc prison, also known as “The Hell on Earth,” can be imagined and seen by visitors thanks to artifacts both inside and outside that have been meticulously preserved in their original locations.
